Why does St. Ignatius mention the sins of the flesh alone in Rule 1?
- Probably from his own experience – recalling his life before his conversion.
- Sins of the flesh are often more widespread and can be repeated more frequently than others (like impiety, unbelief, murder – which are more grave).
- Sins of the flesh are often gateway sins to other sins.
